The sure fire way is this: how do you know your not dreaming now?…the laws of physics. If you wake up and your flying what does that tell you. The hardest part is remebering to BREAK the laws of physics. I personly do the cartoon-prop-grab you know when a bugs bunny pulls mallet from behind himself? Once you realize that you are dreaming… Well think of have no laws of ANY type, well your really dreaming then!XD

Robert asks…
If I’m doing this will I be able to lucid dream? will it help?
I sleep with one normal lamp on and my tv. I’m not scared of the dark, i just really don’t like it. I prefer it to feel like there are things going on around me rather than emptiness. Will i be able to have lucid dreams with the lights and tv on? I would actually think that the tv would help because I might be able to hear it in my dream and figure out that I’m dreaming. what if i turn the lights off but still have the tv on? what if i listen to music?
also if you can’t answer this question, do you have any tips to help you lucid dream? what helps you to do it? thanks !
Binaural Beats answers:
I’m not sure lights and tv will help, but you can try listening to sounds called binaural beats. Supposedly these sounds lower the brain’s frequency and allow one to lucid dream. I listened to some samples once, but they didn’t work for me.
I’ve been lucid dreaming since the age of 14 and I find that thinking about doing it right before going to sleep helps. Also reading about it and in general just thinking about being aware that you are awake helps you to be aware when asleep.
You may want to buy Stephen Laberge’s book, “Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming”. He is known for being one of the top researchers on lucid dreaming. He even achieved communication to the waking world while he was lucid dreaming by twitching his eyes in morse code. Anyway, he gives suggestions about how to do it in his book.

Sharon asks…
I just realized that I had a lucid dream………..!?!?
I’m 14 years old and I have sleep parlysis almost every single night multiple times (yes, multiple times in one night) or usually when I take power naps. Two nights ago I remember having this REALLY crazy dream where I could see myself sleeping and I felt like my body was on a rollercoaster cause I kept on flipping round and round and I kept saying “whoaaaa i should get back to sleep”. Next thing I know it I’m asleep on my chair….. so then I wake myself up……. only to find out that I’m still sleeping in my bed! And just now I realized that I was lucid dreaming!
I want to do this again but i’m not sure if it will ever happen again. I can’t believe i missed out on such a great oppurtunity. How can I achieve this?
Binaural Beats answers:
Simple ways of experiencing a Lucid Dream?
Many people feel that particular foods can encourage or induce a lucid dream. You should try these immediately before going to sleep. Orange Juice, Milk and Cheese and also Mustard have been reported as being good things to consume for the best results.
Others recommend popcorn, pickles, fish and ice cream. While these people say that these foods prepare your mind for Lucid Dreaming, it should be noted that many of them are also high in salt and fat, which won’t necessarily help you to get a good night’s rest.
New technologies can make it somewhat easier to experience Lucid Dreaming. There are devices which can help to stimulate you to have Lucid Dreams such as eyeshades and sleep masks which activate a LED when rapid eye movements are detected. This light reminds you that you are dreaming; letting you take control of the dream!
One of the most exciting developments in Lucid Dreaming comes to us from the world of audio technology. Audio researchers have discovered a process called binaural beats, in which different frequencies are played into each ear.
These binaural frequencies synchronize the hemispheres of the brain; by listening to these frequencies, the brain is helped to achieve REM sleep, the sleep state necessary for Lucid Dreaming.
If you have always wanted to try Lucid Dreaming for yourself, binaural sound presents the quickest and easiest way to begin.

Donna asks…
Best free lucid dream inducing music?
Binaural Beats answers:
Hey Mousey,
The recommended sounds you should listen to improve your lucid dream ability is binaural beats which can help set your mind into more peaceful state and intensify your dreaming.
Lucid dreaming is about remembering and controlling your dreams.
It takes training and constant practicing, but after that, you can achieve full control over your dreams, including the scenarios and your actions in the dream.
Keeping a dream journal is one of the tools you can use in achieving lucid dreams.
Although there are more techniques to make you better remember of your dreams, the first thing you should do, is get relaxed before you fall a sleep and meditate while repeating the sentence “I will remember my dream”.
A very important factor is stress and anxiety in your real life. You should try to relax and meditate before you fall a sleep and try to put a side your everyday stress and thoughts.
You can also use the mp3 file that is on this site and find more info:

After a few practices and couple of weeks, you will start to remember your dreams and be able to control them.
Good luck !
Chris.
